Originally from the Chicagoland area, Carrie majored in chemistry and minored in arts management and dance at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio). After living in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Carrie and her husband moved to Oxford, Miss., where Carrie taught seventh and eighth grade math at Oxford Middle School for two years—and where she still choreographs musicals. Carrie is involved in local arts organizations, including Theater Oxford, and also works at The Powerhouse, focusing on community engagement for arts organizations across Mississippi. She and her husband purchased a home in Oxford in December 2022, and Carrie fell in love with the home-buying process and the architecture of homes in Oxford.
